Tranquil did not have your typical upbringing: living in a roaming camp with 6 other families will do that to you. Here, her mother taught her what beauty she could nurture from the earth - while it may have been a completely outdated skill in her youth, after the bombs were dropped, Tranquil became the last of her kind. All-out nuclear disaster swept her home nation, and within seconds, a great fire blinked away the only life she had ever known. Not only did she lose it all, but her skills would be immediately put to the test: to survive, she would have to cope with soil so dry and infertile that it threatened even the hardiest of plants.
If the smallest shred of hope remains, you can bet Tranquil will find it. There's talk of a safe haven of sorts boarding on the coast, and if she can just make it there, it could be possible to survive. Along the way, an unlikely companion with wheat-yellow eyes and ashen skin catches her eye...but he has the possibility to grow into something more. Walking 5,000 miles on the brink of starvation with endless heartbreak along the way can change a person, but to what degree?
